The climate starts to warm as spring arrives, the bacteria will come and increase, it’s necessary to clean your chicken coop and nest boxes. When the snow and ice melt away and you’re ready to move the chickens back to their springtime home, here are the things that you should do:

1.Clear out all of the dirt, feathers and chicken’s droppings. It will take a little more time to scrape out the droppings, as it will not completely softened under the water.

2. Open the hose and spray the enclosure down. Take a hand brush or thick-bristled broom and scrub the floors and walls to free any remaining droppings, stains, dirt, or debris.

3. Use a natural cleaning agent to disinfect the chicken coop and nesting boxes, such as vinegar, please don’t use bleach, as it’s too irritating for chickens and they can be toxic if it hasn’t dried completely. However, vinegar as a condiment, also has very similar cleaning properties without the harsh effects. Mix equal parts vinegar and water to create a cleaning solution and mop up the area for an all-natural cleaning.

4. Wash it once more.

5. Sweep out all the water, and let the coop and nest boxes air dry.

6. After the chicken coop is dry, put some fresh nesting material to keep the floors clean and chickens warm.

After all the steps, you could move your chickens back into their house.
