Customers praised this two-story outdoor shelter as "easy to assemble" with "clear instructions" and "well made" construction. Most cats loved it, though some feral cats were hesitant initially. Common concerns: thin paint requiring additional weatherproofing, strong wood smell that dissipates, and small sizing for larger cats. Balcony and dual-level design highly appreciated.

This little two story house is perfect for my little kitty. It was super easy to put together, the instructions were very easy to follow and every thing that was pre-cut and with the pegs fit perfectly. It has rained several times and the inside is still dry. My kitty likes to either lay on the roof or on the second story balcony. She loves it and so do I.

This wasn't bad to put together at all, just make sure you use a drill, and I like the quality of the hardware and ease of instructions, it honestly took about 30 minutes by myself, the roof is like actual asphalt shingles, we have 3 young kittens and a momma cat that enjoys the new house

This is a nice outdoor cat house. The size is good for at least 2 cats if needed. The bottom level is the larger and the top is a good bit smaller, due to the front porch/balcony. The access panel on the top floor can be lifted so that kitty can go in from the top and down to the bottom if needed. It'll need to be opened and air-out for a couple of days due to fumes. After that it's fine and cats did not have a problem with going inside. This will definitely need to be insulated with insulation board on the walls and floor. For colder climates the green board would do well.. along with a pet warming pad and that should do well.My reason for 4 stars is that the exterior has proven over the last several days to need a poly coat and probably some clear silicone on areas to make the exterior more weather proof. That's really my only complaint. If you're going to have this on a covered porch or underneath an over hang where rain can't get on it, then it will be ok. We've had substantial rain fall this past week in SC and I finally covered it with a tarp. The inside is getting wet and you can see by the photos that it's on the top and bottom walls where it's running through a seam some where. I am planning to use Marine Once on the exterior walls and trim only. Will not use internally. I'll have to let it dry good before applying and will then use clear silicone along the seams and any where moisture can get it. We don't have a covered porch, so it'll have to be tough enough to handle the elements of SC weather.

After searching for Cat Houses for our group of Feral Cats, we decided on this one. It arrived several days early (that doesn't happen often...), and honestly is way better than I expected. It is solid, well designed/built, and was easily assembled by one person in several hours (the instructions are clear and logical, and they include extra screws). I think it will last for a long time (we have it placed under the garage portico, so it is protected from direct rain - I'm not sure I would leave out in direct rain or snow). A few days after its arrival the Seller contacted me via an Amazon email message to ensure that it had arrived, and that I was completely satisfied. Excellent Customer Service! (Oh btw, the Smell other reviewers mention disappears in a couple of days.)

While it is true that this item comes pre-painted, you WILL need to apply more paint coatings in order to cover the entire wood surface. You will also need to re-seal all of the panels with a weatherproof sealant (I used Liquitex Permanent Varnish that provides both water and UV protection). You should also be prepared to repair any small scale cracks or holes (but please note that these small scale defects did not jeopardize the integrity of the structure). The pictures that I have included are what the product looks like AFTER I repaired, repainted, sealed, and assembled it- your item will not look like mine. The installation process was straightforward, but it does require two people to assemble and you'll find not all the pre-drilled holes were done thoroughly- the were a few that I had finish drilling the holes for the screws. This cathouse is a little on the smaller side when it comes to height, but my cats do enjoy it. I chose not to install the water proof plastic door flap because my cats aren't fans of them. They also don't use the small cat door on the side of the house, but use it as a little window instead. 4-5 of my adult cats will curl up on the bottom while 2 of them will curl up in the loft upstairs. I did leave one floorboard out of the top loft because I wanted to give my cats room to jump upstairs within the cathouse.Overall, this cathouse feels very sturdy and I love that you can customize it to fit your cats' needs. Despite having to spend a bit of money in repainting and re-sealing it, I think that this item is well worth its price.

Cutest lil house for our two outside strays! Worth the money. My teenagers threw it together in about one hour because they didn't use a drill just a hand Phillips screwdriver. Would have went faster if they would have gotten the drill out.

I put it together by myself. The hardest thing to do by myself was putting the first screw in the hinge while simultaneously holding the roof piece in place, but I managed. I didn't see any ferals in it the first night and day but today I have a tenant! I also bought 2 self heating pads '..one for top floor inside and one for bottom floor. It's made well and I want to get more as I can. I enjoyed taking my time putting this together

Bought this for my backyard boys (1 feral and 1 friendly stray). Straight forward build and seems like decent quality for what it is. Looks great. I gave it a coat of outdoor paint for extra weather protection and to match my house plus built a platform to raise it up off the ground. Cats were leery of it at first so I added two outdoor heating pads, a little straw, and put some treats inside for a few days until they felt comfortable. Now they use it daily. Our feral loves to sleep inside the house and the fluffy stray prefers napping down below but both use it and it gets a lot of that's so cute comments from friends.

Quick delivery. One board had a small split in it but won't affect the use of it. The wood does have a chemical smell, hoping it dissipates over time. I put it together myself, but would be much easier with 2 people. It is adorable and I'm hoping to find some critters using it soon!

We have about 6 feral cats that we feed, and wanted to give them there own spot to hang. I customized the exterior with a few coats of yellow spray paint and white trim. Easy to assemble, feels decently sturdy. Really pleased with it!

My stray cats love this house! The kittens love to run and play in and out of it! I insulated it for winter

Such a cute little cat hideaway. Multiple entrances front side and top. The balcony is cute, I added some scratching material on it and the two platforms. So it isn't just wood. Decorate for the holidays to keep your furry friend entertained throughout the year. Place a bed on the bottom level and lotter box on the top for easy cleaning access. Or just use it for beds.I love it. The cat is still getting used to it, but it's a sage hiding place from the dogs when she wants quiet time.
