"It’s huge—perfect for my Maine Coon! Assembly is no joke: ignore the 90-minute estimate. As a single homeowner, it took me 8 hours total (with help for the last 2 hours). Unpacking is intimidating, but taking 45 minutes to organize the numbered wood pieces and alphabetical hardware beforehand is a lifesaver. You only need a drill with a Phillips bit and pliers.
Pay close attention to the pre-drilled holes on the top-front-middle wall panel; I accidentally installed mine upside down and had to improvise!
Skip the flimsy provided screws for the top boxes (parts 25, 26, 28)—use your own longer, sturdier screws instead.
Built a raised platform so it’s not sitting directly on the ground, and treated it with Thompsons Water Seal.
Screened in the open back side against the house, adding an upper window entry with a separate cat door and a ramp.
Reinforced the double white doors with a cross-board to make them sturdier.
It’s a lot of work, but totally worth it. Kenji cat loves it, and that’s all that matters!"

I was wondering if the screening is cat scratch proof. We have a cat that is an escape artist and I am pretty sure he may try to scratch through the screen.

Do you need to secure the catio to the house/ground and, if so, how do you do it? My house is stucco, would this method work on that?
Hello, our product comes with the metal L-shaped bracket shown in the installation manual. This bracket is specifically designed to securely mount the device to the wall. It is also compatible with stucco walls, so you do not need to purchase any additional brackets.
