What can we do to secure the chicken run?

     As we known, many predators, such as foxes, snakes, rats, eagle,or weasel, they will manage to get into the chicken run and coop, if it happens, your chickens will be their dinner. To secure your chicken run, here’s some tips:

     1.To keep the chickens from flying out of the coop, the fence must be at least 6 feet high. The foxes can’t climb in,too.

      2. Some predators like rats, they love to dig, so the fence should be buried at least 18" deep.

       3.To make sure the wire on the fence is strong and firm, strong predators can damage the fence easily if the wire is too thin.

       4. Keep the fence gap as small as possible, so that small predators like rats or snakes can't get through the hole.

       5. Add a roof to the chicken run. It will hard for birds of prey to swoop.

       6. Use the lock that is hard to open, some predators are cunning, they can open latches in an instant.
